The Stanley B. Powers Memorial Endowment Fund—a one million dollar fund that would generate $50,000 – $60,000 each year for ministry training and church building in South-Central Africa—in perpetuity.
With a commitment from friends of Stan to triple-match, our ACOP Family is asked to raise $250,000.
Having already received $25,000 in memorial gifts, we’re on our way to taking full advantage of the matching dollars. We need to raise an additional $225,000—and we can with your help!
Stan was passionate about the ministry of ACOP in South-Central Africa.
Over the past decade, Stan made multiple trips to Africa to engage in pastoral training and leadership development.
Stan was also an advocate for the construction of church buildings and other infrastructure projects that would create sustainability in African communities.
Your memorial gift will be designated for these purposes.
When our partner churches—ACOP of Mozambique and ACOP of Zimbabwe heard about the memorial fund...
They contributed (of their own free will) over $500.00—this is from a part of the world where the average wage is $1.50 per day!
Generosity of this kind is the seed that will see the work that Stan was passionate about continue!
"Now I want you to know, dear brothers and sisters, what God in His kindness has done through the churches in Macedonia. They are being tested by many troubles, and they are very poor. But they are also filled with abundant joy, which has overflowed in rich generosity. For I can testify that they gave not only what they could afford, but far more. And they did it of their own free will. They begged us again and again for the privilege of sharing in the gift for believers in Jerusalem. They even did more than we had hoped, for their first action was to give themselves to the Lord and to us, just as God wanted them to do."
