You Are The God Who Feels Deeply

The Help’s word study defines the word compassion as “deep feelings God has for all of us.”

He is a God that feels and relates to what we’re feeling and going through. He also has feelings for you. I want you to think about that for a moment. God has deep feelings for you.

I am a father raising a young family; I often catch myself thinking about my kids. I get a picture of them in my inner mind, and I have such deep feelings of love and desire for them.

I often think God has a picture of us in his back pocket. He is bringing your picture out and sharing how he feels about you. It’s not just any feelings but deep feelings that vibrate with love, acceptance, peace, and joy.

It reminds me of the story in Jeremiah 29:11, where the people of Israel are going into captivity. He sends Jeremiah alongside them and shares that he has a plan for them, a future, and hope.

I remember a time when I wasn’t doing so well. I had made poor decisions in life and was living in rebellion. Many nights the presence of God would come. It would remind me of how he felt about me.

I pray the Father of Compassion would share the feelings that he has for you!
