Update on Hendren Family #

At the beginning of August, we sent out the following request…
Would you pray for Sara, Sara is the daughter of Jason and Amber Hendren of BC and members of our ACOP family. A few days ago Sara (9 years old) had a seizure needing CPR and intubation and was flown to Vancouver.
As of Sunday evening, Sara had suffered a significant brain injury causing brain swelling. Please pray for Sara as she is fighting for her life.
From the Hendren Family: We are feeling the love of intentional community and are SO grateful for the support and generosity to our family. Our workplaces, church (The Bridge) family, friends, community groups, and strangers have encouraged and helped us in many ways. We love messages to us and audio recordings we can play for Sara. You are helping carry us.
Thank you for continuing to pray. We know there are many needs in this human life and we are honoured if you’d continue bringing Sara and our family to the Lord in your conversations with Him. We trust He is holding her and whispering His love to her and we are thankful He walks with us through these deep waters. It is incredibly, gut-wrenching hard.
Sara continues to be medically stable.
Every 2 weeks new small goals are set as her brain is in the process of building new pathways—but the area damaged is usually the main connector of said pathways.
It’s a pretty heart-wrenching process as there is much frustration for her and it’s so hard to tell what she needs or how she is feeling as she can’t talk or really move and she seems mostly unaware. Overall, there is some improvement, but slow gains and we ache for more.
Please continue to pray for this family—they have long days and many challenges as a family. Sara’s brothers are back at school and Amber & Jason are splitting time at home and in the hospital (different cities).
